Sunrise Agra Fuels had concentrated its resources in 2009 to acquiring its own facility to manufacture a quality, renewable biomass fuel pellet. Sunrise Agra Fuels is committed to setting up a new 'state of the art' plant in Bagley, MN that is manufacturing fuel pellets for the 2009/10 heating season. The new plant, Prairie Agra Fuels, will produce a Pellet Fuel Institute certified premium fuel pellet and a standard grade fuel pellet. Prairie Agra Fuels will also introduce a new pet bedding line-up to be released in August, 2009. Prairie Agra Fuels will offer a small animal and large animal bedding product in pellet form from Bagley, MN.

Sunrise Agra Fuel "Island Pellets" are a biomass pellet specially formulated to burn in most biomass corn stoves and wood pellet stoves. All biomass pellets generate ash that requires stoves to have some way of removing the ash. Blending our pellets with corn allows the corn blend to burn on a low temperature setting and produces a softer, more manageable ash.

The Island pellet is made from a special blend of agri by-products that are low in ash, ignite easily, burn on low settings and do not clinker. Ash production levels are comparable to corn but soft - without the “rock hard ‘clinker’” found with shell corn.

US supplies of fossil fuels are finite and nonrenewable. Natural gas will not be available indefinitely. The US now imports 17% of its natural gas. US production in natural gas peaked in 2000 and has declined every year since while US demand for natural gas has continued to increase.
